Canadian Humanitarian and Activists

There are many notable Canadian humanitarian and activists, including Larissa Dawson, a Metis and Jamaican woman from Calgary. At a young age, she organized a fundraiser to build a public library in Ghana. She also contributed to a public library in her home province, Kainai Reserve. Upon graduation with a double honours degree in environmental science from York University, Larissa applied anti-racism research to the renewable energy industry. As an individual, you can help to make a difference in the lives of others. By volunteering for an organization that supports women, you are not only helping them, but also helping to build stronger communities.

When you travel, you can help others by volunteering with them. This is an excellent way to get involved with the community.
